INVISIBLE MAPS

a performative walk, crafting and food format in the Danube-Auen
June 22, 2024, SchlossORTH Nationalpark-Zentrum

“Ground and feet, land and movement, verticality and time, situatedness and axes: the more of them we take into account when giving account of the spheres we share, the more degrees of freedom we are going to endow.” — Karen Barad

Dunjiva Kollektiv in collaboration with Foresta Collective and the Danube-Auen National Park.

The Danube-Auen are one of the largest floodplains in Europe and the source of interminable nooks and crannies as well as numerous winding waterways. Such an unpredictable terrain that is (almost) water and the other way around, which depends on the seasons and changes so much over the course of the year, inspires a thoroughly open engagement with space and time.

Dunjiva Kollektiv and Foresta Collective are calling for such a joint exploration – as part of an all-day performative walk on 22 June. We invite you to linger in the Danube wetlands with us, express your experiences visually and participate in the creation of an unusual collective map.

On this day, spent together in tune with the floodplains, we will expose ourselves to the daily rhythms of the landscape and try our hand at meandering. With plants, animals, water and each other, we will expand the day through attention and try to give form to our experiences that go beyond the boundaries of identity and species. We will end the day together with a collective meal and a sharing of the final notes of our venture.
