Embodied Presence

personal sessions

The format of individual sessions is rooted in personal inquiry, questions that you may be living in this moment of your life, where you want to be supported through guidance into a deeper or more authentic presence. These sessions are designed in order to introduce you to the basics of embodied culture. What is embodied culture in a nutshell? A bridge. Often there is a gap between the way we think, act and express ourselves and the way we feel we potentially could. Often we learn to respond in similar ways to certain situations, developing a kind of unchosen personal choreography of patterns of thoughts, emotions, movement, and behaviour. These patterns can alienate us from ourselves, causing discomfort or generating recurring moods, limiting beliefs, or physical symptoms that diminish our experience of life and lead to an automatic or routine way of relating to ourselves and to others. A way to change this situation is by reconnecting body, mind and all the facets of human experience. Neuroscientist Candice Pert, physician Gabor Maté, and many others refuse to use either “body” or “mind” separately, and use the word “bodymind” to show how overlapping the two really are. We name such unified experience embodied culture (read more about it here).

One-on-one sessions can focus on a variety of subjects, depending on your personal inquiry, wishes and situation: from finding the work you want to commit to, or nurturing a sense of wellbeing within yourself, to solving a conflict in a relationship. The basis of the individual sessions is learning to sense yourself, your being, in more wholesome ways, and from there to be actively responsible for your own well-being and for the situation you wish to change. This process involves paying attention to the present moment, without trying to make it be different than what it is, identifying the gifts and the obstacles it offers, as well as ways to go about them that suit you personally. During the sessions you learn the practice of embodied attention and presence, unifying your awareness, synching body and mind, and all the multiple intelligences and capacities we have as humans. Consequently you learn to build the level of energy in order to move towards a change you wish to experience, whether it is in your personal attitude, your level of confidence, ability to focus or to build trustworthy relationships.
